Analysis: Powell will not be swayed by the White House and will remain cautious while striking a certain balance
BlockBeats News, January 31, Sparta Capital Securities Chief Market Strategist Peter Cardillo said, "I don't want to say that Powell's nomination as the new Fed chairman was a complete surprise. He has always been considered hawkish, but recently he seems to be aligning more with Trump's position, so it's a bit difficult to assess how the market will react to this nomination. We just need to observe whether he will be influenced by the White House. My guess is that he won't be; he will carefully examine issues and maintain a certain balance in terms of inflation and the labor market. He may not be as decisive as Powell, but the difference won't be too far off." (FXStreet)
