US Media: House Democratic Party Angered by Agreement with Senate to End Government Shutdown
BlockBeats News, November 11th. According to AXIOS website, on Monday afternoon local time, a private phone call convened by House Democrats escalated into a heated emotional outburst, with lawmakers expressing anger at a group of Senate moderates and Republicans reaching a deal to end the government shutdown. Over a dozen House Democrats spoke on the phone call, with the vast majority criticizing the agreement. The scale of this opposition reflects deep divisions between the two chambers. One House member participating in the call said, "Almost everyone is strongly against" this agreement. About half of the speakers directly criticized Senate Minority Leader Schumer, or indirectly expressed dissatisfaction with Schumer by endorsing previous criticisms of him. (Kryptonite)
